Start of work on the 2nd construction phase of the Oberbürgermeister-Karl Lehr Bridge in Duisburg

Work is currently starting on the 2nd construction phase of the Oberbürgermeister-Karl Lehr bridge span in Duisburg. The 2nd construction phase includes the bridge train of the areas Kaiserhafen up to and including Ruhrbrücke and is carried out in the axis of the current structures. The new bridge structures (harbor canal bridge and Ruhr bridge) will be erected on a temporary construction site west of the final position and, after dismantling of the existing structures, the new replacement structures will be moved transversely to the final position.

The Construction Management and Quality Assurance Steel Construction divisions of IGS Ingenieure GmbH & Co. KG have been commissioned by the City of Duisburg to carry out the tasks of site management, local construction supervision and production supervision for this construction project.
