AI4INFRA | Research program on the use of artificial intelligence in structural testing | Project launch

Since April 1st, 2020, the research project for software-supported detection of superficial damages and conditions on infrastructural surfaces by a cloud-based approach with artificial intelligence called AI4INFRA is running. This is a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure under the Modernization Fund MFund, which will be carried out together with 6 cooperation partners until 2023.

The main objective of the project is to support work in the context of acceptance tests and in the course of structural inspections by means of artificial intelligence. For this purpose, work steps of the structural inspections are to be digitalized and automated. Furthermore, an instrument for the analysis and evaluation of recorded damage is to be created, which represents an audit-ready preparation and a BIM-capable solution.

The structural diagnostics division of IGS Ingenieure GmbH & Co. KG is working on the sub-project of evaluating the analysis procedure and developing the reporting tool.
